Geographic Information System

Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer based information system used to digitally represent and analyze the geographic features present on the Earth’ surface and that taking place on it. The GIS system aims to support the trauma data collected in the field hospitals by identifying the exact location where the accident occurred. The latitude and longitude of the accident spot is also determined which is further helpful in developing GIS maps.

 Scope:

The current scope of our GIS section is limited to forming geo spatial maps of injuries under different contexts. In future it is aimed to bring our data to technology oriented terms through GIS system.

 Functions:

  • Developing extensive GIS maps that help in better planning, making better decisions, visual analysis and improve organizational integration.
  • GIS maps help to organize and centralize the data
  • Collecting GPS data on field that enhances our GIS database
